Jerry Lee Betkey, Sr.
Jerry Lee Betkey, Sr., 85, of Kingston, went to be with the Lord at 12:30 a.m. on April 22, 2024 at his residence. He was born on March 6, 1939, in Waverly, the son of the late Charles and Wanda (Yeager) Betkey.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Carol (Hughes) Betkey; beloved children, Debra (John) Sullivan, of Broadway, Ohio, Nora May, of Wauseon, Ohio, and Jerry Lee (Julie) Betkey, Jr., of Mooresville, Tennessee; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Danny (Sandra) Betkey, Michael (Leah) Scott, Carol Chandler, and Sandy Vickers; and numerous other special family members and friends whom he cherished.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by his wife and mother of his children, Sharon Lee Betkey; daughter, Pamela Miller; great-granddaughter, Olivia Rose Moore; and siblings, Eddie Betkey and Patty Parks.
Jerry retired from Dana Corporation after 30 years of service. After retirement, he was a bus driver for the Board of Developmental Disabilities. Jerry loved life, traveling, and his family and his pets. He spent many years in Black Canyon City, Arizona enjoying mountain climbing, panning for gold, and exploring everything Arizona had to offer. Jerry was known as a selfless person who would offer help to anyone.
